Logging#
Performance Rigging writes a log file as it runs. The log is the first place to look when something does not behave as expected, and it is the most useful thing to send when reporting a problem.
Log file location#
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Performance BIM\PerformanceRigging.log
Verbose logging#
By default the log records high-level activity — commands starting and completing, and errors. Verbose logging adds detailed step-by-step entries, including which elements the automatic updater processed and why any linesets were skipped.
Turning it on#
- On the Settings panel, click About.
- Enable the Verbose Logging option.
- Close the dialog. The preference is saved per user and persists across sessions.
When to use it#
Enable verbose logging when you are reproducing a specific problem — for example, linesets not updating as expected — so the log captures the detail needed to diagnose it. You can turn it back off afterward to keep the log concise.
The About dialog#
Besides the verbose-logging toggle, the About dialog shows the application name, version, copyright, licensee, and the log file path. Quoting the version shown here helps support reproduce your exact build.
