Duplicating and Numbering#
With one lineset associated to the reference plane, you can build out a full run of evenly spaced linesets and number them in order.
Duplicate the run#
- Select the lineset you associated in the previous step.
- On the Linesets panel, click Duplicate Lineset.
- In the dialog, enter:
- Quantity to Duplicate — for example,
20to create twenty more linesets upstage of the first. - Lineset Spacing — for example,
0' 8"for eight-inch centers (enter the value in your model's units). - Click OK.
The copies are placed one spacing increment apart along the reference plane's normal, each with its distance set automatically and its designation incremented from the source lineset.
Duplicate from the end of a run
Copies are offset from the lineset you selected. Duplicate from the last lineset in a run so new copies extend the run rather than landing on top of existing linesets. See Duplicating Linesets.
Renumber in distance order#
After duplicating — or any time you have inserted, deleted, or rearranged linesets — clean up the numbering:
- On the Linesets panel, open the stacked Pin / UnPin / Renumber group and click Renumber.
- Every lineset is renumbered
1, 2, 3, …in order of distance from the reference plane.
See Numbering Linesets for details, including how numbering interacts with multiple rigging systems in one model.
Pin the layout#
Once the run looks right, protect it from accidental movement:
- Open the stacked group and click Pin Linesets.
All linesets are pinned. Unpin them later with UnPin Linesets when you need to move them. With the layout built and numbered, continue to Scheduling.
