Setting the Reference#

With at least one lineset and a named reference plane in the model, the next step is to tell Performance Rigging which plane to measure from and to associate your linesets with it.

Associate the first lineset#

  1. Select the lineset over the stage.
  2. On the Linesets panel, click Select Reference.
  3. Click your Plaster Line reference plane.

A confirmation appears once the association is stored. Behind the scenes, the add-in has:

  • Written the plane's name into the lineset's Reference Plane Name parameter.
  • Turned on the lineset's Use Dynamic Scheduling parameter.
  • Recorded the lineset's measured distance from the plane into its distance parameter.
  • Remembered the plane as the current locator for this session.

Associating several linesets at once#

If you already have several linesets in place, you have two choices:

  • Select them all first, then run Select Reference and pick the plane — every selected lineset is associated and has dynamic scheduling enabled.
  • Select nothing, then run Select Reference and pick the plane — every lineset within 50 feet of the plane that does not already have a reference is associated automatically.

See Selecting a Reference for the full detail.

Check the distance#

Select the lineset and look at its distance parameter in the Revit Properties palette. It should now show the perpendicular distance from the plaster line. With the reference established, continue to Duplicating and Numbering.
