Numbering Linesets#
The Renumber command assigns sequential whole-number designations to the linesets in your model based on their distance from the reference plane.
What the command does#
- Collects every lineset in the model.
- Sorts them by their stored distance, nearest first.
- Writes
1,2,3, … into each lineset's designation parameter in that order.
Steps#
- On the Linesets panel, open the stacked Pin / UnPin / Renumber group and click Renumber.
- The linesets are renumbered immediately.
Renumber affects every lineset
Renumbering applies to all linesets in the model, regardless of venue or reference plane. If your model contains multiple independent rigging systems, review the result — they will share one continuous number sequence.
Sort accuracy depends on synced distances
Renumber sorts by each lineset's stored distance. If linesets have been moved but the schedule has not been updated, run Sync Schedule first so the sort order reflects the real positions.
Designations and duplication#
The Duplicate Lineset command sets each new copy's designation by incrementing the source lineset's number, so a freshly duplicated run is already numbered in order. Use Renumber to renumber an entire system cleanly after edits, insertions, or deletions.
