Automatic Updates#

The Enable Lineset Updater button turns on a background updater that keeps dynamically scheduled linesets in agreement with the reference plane automatically, without you having to run Sync Schedule or Update Locations by hand.

Turning it on and off#

Enable Lineset Updater is a toggle on the Linesets panel:

  • Click it once to enable the updater.
  • Click it again to disable it.

The updater's state is reflected by the button on the ribbon.

What it does#

While enabled, the updater watches for changes to dynamically scheduled linesets — such as a lineset being moved, or a relevant parameter being edited — and reconciles the lineset's distance and location in response. This keeps your rigging schedule and the model in step as you work.

Interaction with other commands#

  • Duplicate Lineset temporarily suspends the updater while it creates copies, then restores it, so a single duplication does not trigger a wave of updates. See Duplicating Linesets.
  • Only linesets with Use Dynamic Scheduling enabled participate. Legacy linesets are never affected.

Verbose logging#

When you are diagnosing how the updater is behaving, enable verbose logging. The log will then record which elements triggered the updater, which linesets were processed, and the reason any were skipped (for example, no reference plane, dynamic scheduling off, or a legacy lineset).

Tip

If automatic updates ever produce unexpected movement, disable the updater, fix the affected linesets with Sync Schedule or Update Locations, then re-enable it.
