Known Limitations#

Current constraints of the application.

Capture#

  • Nested links are not captured. Only links loaded directly into the host model are read.
  • Only modelled geometry is exported. Surfaces are taken from the model as modelled; anything unmodelled is absent from the DWG.
  • Very small surfaces may be missed. Fine detail, such as a shallow reveal or a slim mullion face, can fall below the detection threshold. Surfaces that are captured are exported at full accuracy.
  • The venue must be reasonably enclosed. Where it opens out, the capture stops at the scope box and adds no surface there; the opening is left open in the export.
  • Very narrow openings are treated as closed. This prevents the capture escaping through a door gap, but a genuinely narrow aperture is sealed.

Loudspeakers#

  • .xld files are read, not written. There is no export back to EASE.
  • Aim parameters are not supported on face-based families. A face-based loudspeaker is aimed by the surface it is mounted on.
  • Arrays are placed as single loudspeakers. Configure Speaker records the loudspeaker type, including Array, but an array family is placed and aimed as one loudspeaker. An array modelled as individual cabinets is a set of individual instances, each with its own label and aim.
  • .xglc array files are not read. Array configuration is not translated into Revit geometry.
  • Loudspeakers are matched by label only. A loudspeaker moved in EASE and one moved in Revit are indistinguishable to the application.

General#

  • One venue per capture. Batch capture is not supported.
  • A capture is not a single undo operation. The geometry it creates can be deleted, but one Ctrl+Z will not reverse a complete capture.

Revit version compatibility#

The application is compatible with Autodesk Revit versions 2023–2027.
