What's New#
Releases are versioned Major.Minor.Patch.Build: Major 0 while in beta, Minor
27 tracking Revit 2027, Patch for each release, and Build incremented on every
build. The About dialog shows the installed version, and every capture log
records it.
For current constraints, see Known Limitations.
0.27.2.411 — Development Paused#
Application development is paused due to conflicting development priorities. The current release is stable and fully functional, but no new features or fixes are being implemented at this time.
0.27.1.410 — First beta release#
The first public release of Performance AV, for Revit 2023 to 2027.
Capture#
- Venues. A venue is a named PAV-Origin inside a scope box. Place Scope Box and Place Origin create and name them.
- Capture Venue finds the model surfaces that bound the venue, in the host model and loaded links, and writes them to a DWG in the venue's own coordinate frame. The first capture of a venue asks for its boundary, export location, linked models, surface categories and type layers. See Capture the Venue.
- Layers. Surfaces are placed on category layers, or on type layers assigned in Capture Settings. Clearing Include makes a type acoustically transparent.
- Custom capture view. A venue can be captured through a 3D view formatted in Revit, so the capture returns exactly what the view shows.
- Remove Capture deletes capture geometry retained in the model for review.
Loudspeakers#
- Sync Speakers places and aims loudspeaker families from an EASE
.xldfile, matched by label. Speakers removed from the file are offered for deletion, and a summary lists every change and warning. See Sync Speakers. - Remap Speakers runs the sync with the matching dialog always shown.
- Configure Speaker prepares any aimable loudspeaker family, including manufacturers' families, for synchronisation.
- Face-based loudspeakers are mounted on the nearest host surface, in the model or a loaded link.
- Load Speakers loads the generic point source and ceiling loudspeaker installed with Performance AV.
Licensing and support#
- A seven-day trial on first run, then a free beta licence by registration. See License.
- New releases are announced in Revit; updates are not installed automatically.
- Report a problem sends logs to support after listing their contents. Diagnostic reporting is optional and off until enabled. See Data and Privacy.
