Performance Seating Help#
Performance Seating is an Autodesk Revit add-in that automates the placement and documentation of audience seating for live performance and event spaces.
The application provides purpose-built Revit families and a suite of placement tools that calculate seat quantities, sizes, and positions along row reference lines — handling the geometry, numbering, and location data that would otherwise require extensive manual coordination.
What the application does#
- Calculates seat quantities, widths, and positions for straight and curved rows
- Stagers seat layouts between rows to support alternating sightline requirements
- Assigns venue, section, row, and seat number data to every seat for use in Revit schedules and tags
- Provides tools to replace seat types and update rows after initial placement
Before you begin#
If this is your first time using Performance Seating, follow the steps in Getting Started to install the add-in and prepare your first project.
Important
Performance Seating does not address egress, clearance, or code compliance. It is the responsibility of the designer to apply appropriate judgment for each project. The tools are intended to automate documentation, not to serve as a sightline design tool.
