Troubleshooting#

This section covers common issues and frequently asked questions. If you encounter unexpected behavior, the steps below resolve the majority of problems before needing to contact support.

First steps#

Re-initialize the project#

Re-initialization is the recommended first response to most unexpected application behavior. It restores missing linestyles, subcategories, and shared parameters without affecting existing seat placements.

To re-initialize: open the Settings window and click Re-Initialize Project in the Application Settings tab.

Check the log file#

The application writes a log file that can help identify the cause of errors not explained by an on-screen message. The log is located at:

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Performance BIM\PBSeating.log

If you need to contact support, include this file in your report.

For issues not resolved by the FAQ or re-initialization, contact Performance BIM at developer@performancebim.com. Include a brief description of the problem, the Revit version in use, and the log file if relevant.
